The Duke of Cambridge and Conservation Efforts

As some of you may know, the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge came to America this week. On Monday, they traveled from New York to Washington DC on their short trip here, and they managed to make a quick stop at the World Bank. There William spoke about the need to stop the illegal wildlife trade and the current international efforts against it.
"Our collective goal must be to reduce the wildlife trade by making it harder: denying traffickers access to transportation, putting up barriers to their illegal activities, and holding people accountable for their actions. Those who look the other way, or spend the illicit proceeds of these crimes, must be held to account."
Later Monday night, William and Kate went to a reception that was held by the Royal Foundation. This gathering was to reinstate the importance and recognition of the conservation work being conducted internationally by United for Wildlife, the Tusk Trust, the Conservation International, Nature Conservancy,  and the Wildlife Conservation Society. You can look up these different groups and partners if you're interested in becoming informed or maybe even involved.

These conservation efforts are important to our society today, and it's refreshing to see such important, powerful world leaders being involved. In the words of the Duke of Cambridge,
"I am determined not to let the world´s children grow up on a planet where our most iconic and endangered species have been wiped out.
I hope you will join me.
Thank you."
